This international congress brings together agricultural and rural museum and heritage professionals from around the world to explore and share their work. It is a rare opportunity for agricultural museum professionals and others interested in farming heritage to discuss engagement, research, collections practice, and related activity.

On the Day of Lower Austrian State Archeology on June 1, 2024, renowned scientists at the MAMUZ Museum Mistelbach present their archaeological research results of the past year and provide a variety of insights into their work. The temporal arc stretches extends from the Mesolithic to the 10th century AD and covers around 40,000 years Story.

Frustration. Uncertainty. Anger. Heartache. 2020 has given us much. We’ve also been harshly reminded that climate change is upon us, that politicians equivocate, that people have opinions, and that murder hornets are a thing. After a Roman drink of wine, the participants will find out which lighting the Romans used to bring light into the darkness of the evenings and nights. Afterwards you will experience the fort in the dark on your tour, with special objects appearing impressively from the dark - please bring a flashlight.

More than 30 professional and amateur companies of historical spectacles take part, divided into several categories: music, dance and song; theater and street performance; animal training and show; crafts and demonstrations; military art; various activities and services; technique and accessories; living history sites.

Textile researchers have a challenge when looking for information in our field, which is part of what makes it fun! We have to think outside the box, looking in places others may not consider. Weapons and fighting techniques in the course of time

The discovery of weapons is an inherent part of archeological material. Most of these artifacts were more than just simple tools for hunting or impressive status symbols – they were actually used for disputes. This fact is proved by injuries on skeletal remains, strain patterns on weapons and through historical sources.

For historical-archaeological brewers, we gather for our monthly chat. It is open access and will include links and discussion about craft brewing - you decide what will be on the table! The chat starts at 15:00h CET (Amsterdam time) and may take about 1.5 hours.

About 50 years before Christ, the Romans conquered many countries, including part of the Netherlands. This takeover changed a lot in the area south of the Rhine: the Romans brought new tastes, built roads, built houses of stone and brought us writing.
