Demonstration and performance, 18.-19.07.2020, 10-17 o´clock

Ancient instruments hold a fascination for many people.
Therefore we offer the chance to get in touch with shawn, flute, bagpipe and jaw harp. All weekend long a number of medieval instruments will be played and explained by an archaeologist and musician. 

Our summer workshops for kids are a playful introduction to old crafts and technologies and a really handmade time travel.

On four successive days we offer outdoor workshops with different contents that apply to children from the age of 6 to10 years.

The recent past has witnessed a flowering of scholarship explicitly addressing the way that individuals, communities, and societies responded to the introduction of the pottery wheel.

The #EAC12 Conference will be an “around the world in 80 experiments” taking place in March 2021 (exact dates to be confirmed). It will start in New Zealand & Australia, turning towards Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America as the time proceeds. #EAC12 has online lectures as well as presentations by local hotspots in different time zones.

From Cave Painting to Graffiti

What does cave painting have in common with modern graffiti pictures in public spaces? What methods and materials did the ice age artists use? Why were the pictures created then and are they created today? Try to create your own picture with earth colors and the simplest tools!

Swargas (Сваргас) is a historical and ethnographic open-air museum, recreated in full size, as a fortress of the Baltic Slavs - the Wends of the early medieval period of the 8th - 12th centuries, during the birth of Russian statehood.  "Swargas" is an Indo-European word translated as "Sunny sky." ( Location: latitude / longitude: 60 * 49'40.74 '' C / 28 * 50'13.69

Kernavė was a medieval capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

These 3D videos were commissioned by the Kernavė State Cultural Reserve and are used in the Kernavė Archaeological Site Museum.
