The Idea

Hack Frederick was born in 2016 as a joint idea by the combined technology user groups of Frederick, MD.  The real goal of Hack Frederick is to create an event that will appeal to all computer developers in the region, creating a place for everyone to get together, to network, to learn, and to expand as a community. A one-day event with effects that will be felt throughout the community for the year to come.

Who Should Come?

Everyone! Really, we mean it! The goal is to bring all technologists from the region together for a day of fun! If you are just wanting to start learning about computer development, or if you are an expert, we will have content for you and want you to join us! With the various aspects of this event, non-programmers will certainly be in demand as well.  Are you a designer? Teams would probably love to have someone help them with their UI!

This Year

This year we are focusing the event, with the help of techfrederick, into a hackathon with both competitive and learning aspects to appeal to everyone. We have a separate page dedicated to the hackathon itself where you can read even more details.

The Location

This year we’ve chosen an amazing venue that will create an open and welcoming feel to the day.  It will take place at the Clarion Inn and Event Center near the Francis Scott Key mall in their large open indoor courtyard. There is plenty of free parking, and in the off-chance that you are coming from farther away, they obviously have a number of rooms that you can rent to turn it into a full weekend complete with some Frederick tourism.

The address of the venue is:
5400 Holiday Dr
Frederick, MD 21703
