From June 9th to 12th, 2022, glasses will again be blown and formed at the Roman Villa Borg archaeology park under the enthusiastic gaze of visitors at the reconstructed Roman glass furnace.
The French glassmaker Fran莽ois Arnaud, the German glassmaker Torsten R枚tzsch and the American glassmaker Jason Klein could again be won for this project. All three glassmakers are specialized in the production of historical glass vessels.
The glass furnace project "Borg Furnace Project" of the Roman Villa Borg Archaeology Park, which is unique in its conception, is being carried out this year in cooperation with the . Glasses are made using different techniques and these techniques are explained during production. The students build and operate a clay oven for glass bead production again.
From Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 12th, 2022, a variety of glassmaking demonstrations are planned almost continuously from around 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
